Promoting careers in construction
This National Apprenticeship Week, the Considerate Constructors Scheme is working with the Built Environment Academy (BEA) and Learn Live UK, the free online learning portal for students, to engage young people and inspire them to consider a career in the construction industry as part of their academic path and once they leave education.
Throughout National Apprenticeship Week, head over to their Careers Live portal to find video interviews with construction apprentices as well as established industry professionals of all levels and roles (we are proud to feature too), sharing their journey into the built environment, their role and careers available and most of all, their passion for a sector that is so central and vital to society.
During the week our staff, with others from the industry will also join the Live Chat on the Learn Live UK platform and will be on hand to answer questions about the industry, its role, and why now more than ever is the best time to join it.

Taking it a step further
The Built Environment Academy is an independent group of industry professionals who volunteer their time and expertise to promote careers in the built environment, working collaboratively to close the skills gap.
Our collaboration with the Built Environment Academy (BEA) will continue throughout 2024 to deliver events such as Work Experience Week later in the year, targeted at pupils from year 10 and above.
It’s great to have started this collaboration with the Built Environment Academy and we look forward to building on our respective strengths and networks to enthuse people about construction and bring new recruits to the industry.
Our joint initiative will help individuals understand safety on and around sites, how the industry work and will give them exposure to the professional roles in the industry. Those taking part will be given the opportunity to spend time on-site, in an office, conduct virtual visits and carry out team tasks to get them acquainted to with the real buzz of the industry.
