The Best Practice Hub, our free educational platform for the construction industry
The Best Practice Hub is our free online resource designed to support the construction industry in improving their standards in considerate construction. The Hub is the place to go if you are looking for inspiration and examples of best practices, innovations, information on industry-critical topics or case studies that you can apply to your own circumstances.
What was new in 2023
Last year was a bumper year in terms of new content made available to all Best Practice Hub users. We published a new “Spotlight on…” learning toolkit on carbon reduction and an e-learning module to test your understanding of the topic. We also shared new resources developed in partnership with Drinkaware and Gambleaware, two of our Scheme Supporters, free to access to everyone in the construction industry.
Speaking of supporters, we also improved our CCS Supporters page, which now is easier to filter and navigate to help you find what our Supporters do and whether their expertise or work could be relevant to you and your project.
We also published three new instalments of our Resolving Complaints series, to help you understand and prevent activities that can cause inconvenience to the public surrounding your project. The three new instalments cover parking, inappropriate behaviour and working hours, and they are free, like all Hub resources.
Last year in numbers
2023 was a fantastic year. We welcomed over 2,000 new registered users and we published an amazing 300 new examples of best practice and innovation showcasing great examples of how to improve the industry and go beyond the requirements of the CCS Code and Checklist.
All best practices and innovations published on the Hub come from sites and organisations registered with the CCS and are reviewed by an expert panel before they are shared. We are very grateful to all our contributors to choose to share their work with the whole construction industry.

In addition, our free e-learning courses on the Scheme and on key industry topics were taken over 9,000 times! We have also run a number of webinars to help users make the most of the Best Practice Hub, which will return for 2024. In fact, the next is in just a few weeks, check our dedicated webinars page!
What to expect in 2024
We will continue to develop our range of resources and we are delighted to announce that we are working towards full CPD Accreditation for all our e-learning courses to give further value to your learning.
Expect to see two brand new ‘Spotlight on…’ learning toolkits and a thorough refresh of the existing ones in need of updating as the industry moves forwards and practices evolve. Keep also an eye out for new instalments of the resolving complaints series.
Finally, we will add new e-learning courses to expand our educational offer.
