Winvic Construction Ltd, The Residences – Edgbaston, for the initiative: “Corkfield Social Value Strategy”

Committed to leaving a positive legacy in the communities in which it works, Winvic successfully boosted employment in an area with the largest youth unemployment in Europe. As part of the Corkfield (The Residences) project in Birmingham, Winvic agreed to deliver 2,880 employment weeks to local unemployed residents. Working with Birmingham City Council and across its supply chain, Winvic exceeded all targets by delivering 3,675 employment weeks to 291 residents in need (128% above target), in addition to providing STEM days, site tours, job fairs and work placements to local students. Providing long-lasting social value to the Birmingham area, Winvic have not only created employment opportunities, but also enriched the livelihoods of local communities with the skills and confidence to follow a career in construction.
