Morgan Sindall Construction & Infrastructure Ltd, A11 Spooner Row to Tuttles Interchange Reconstruction Scheme, for the initiative: “Creating employment opportunities”

Striving to improve gender equality and encourage women into construction, Morgan Sindall have launched a programme to promote diversity and female representation at its A11 site in Norfolk. Working with organisations including the Jobcentre Plus, the District and Town Councils, HMP Norwich, local colleges and educational charities, the team at Morgan Sindall have designed and implemented a plan that would challenge historical perceptions, promote female role models and inspire the next generation to consider a career in construction. Initiatives included: work placements and job fairs, careers events and STEM workshops, and an extensive social media programme. With over a third of local employment successes to date being women, by challenging the status quo, Morgan Sindall have improved gender ratios and contributed to the local economy.
