Milestone Infrastructure, A44, Woodstock Road, for the initiative: “North Oxford Corridor – Decarbonisation”

Milestone Infrastructure, the Principal Contractor for the North Oxford Corridor project have demonstrated how engagement across all of its stakeholders and workforce can create a powerful impact in the fight against climate change. Overcoming the initial challenge to calculate carbon baselines, the company developed a bespoke carbon estimating tool, empowering the team with the knowledge to make significant changes. By aligning the commitment of its stakeholders and workforce through a carbon reduction workshop, the project has inspired a range of carbon saving initiatives including: HVO fuel for all plant; efficient electric vehicle charging points; a solar powered satellite compound; and traffic management reflectors to replace battery powered lamps. The project has achieved a 34% carbon reduction to date and is inspiring similar initiatives across other sites.
