Costain Ltd, Regional Delivery Partnership North for the initiative Leaving a legacy

Costain, working with design partner Jacobs, have placed community engagement high on its agenda with the creation of a central community relations team as part of its Regional Delivery Partnership Framework in the North East. The newly formed team plays a crucial role in keeping communities informed and engaging with local community groups to deliver social value projects. Initiatives included improving neglected areas of land through litter picking and regrassing schemes, supporting wildlife with extensive seeding and planting, and helping inspire the next generation through school visits including a work placement through the Down Syndrome Association. The project has had positive feedback from the local community and left a lasting legacy on the biodiversity and regeneration of socially deprived areas.
