Aoife Healey, JJ Rhatigan Ltd, for the initiative: “Monthly Mindfulness – One Maidenhead”

Bridging the worlds of dance and construction, Aoife Healy, Community Liaison Officer for JJ Rhatigan, has gone to great lengths to support the mental and physical wellbeing of her colleagues on the One Maidenhead project. Using her skills as a qualified dance teacher, Aoife has created a monthly mindfulness class of yoga and functional strength training to all site workers. Working on a voluntary basis, Aoife sought buy in from the management team, found a venue and negotiated time off for workers to attend the class. The classes have grown in popularity and attract over 20 member of staff. Bringing the workforce together to practice mindfulness and movement has given workers a chance to try something new, whilst helping reduce stress levels, prevent injury, and support physical and mental health.
