Who we are

Les is a seasoned construction professional with over 30 years of experience across diverse roles and sectors, from subcontractor delivery to senior leadership positions in some of the world’s largest construction and infrastructure companies. He was recently appointed to global professional services firm HDR and also serves as Non-Executive Director of the Construction Industry Council, as well as Vice President and Treasurer of CIBSE.

Les has extensive UK and international experience managing multi-discipline engineering, architectural and project management workstreams. His career spans fast-track fit-outs, listed building refurbishments and award-winning landmark projects worldwide. Known for strong commercial leadership and technical expertise, Les has a proven track record of delivering successful outcomes and actively collaborates with industry stakeholders to champion and support the built environment.

Diana is a respected leader in construction, manufacturing and sustainability with extensive experience driving industry standards across a number of sectors. She became Chief Executive of the Construction Products Association in 2012 before stepping back to be Chief Operating Officer in 2019. Previously, Diana was Deputy Chief Executive of the Chemical Industries Association, where she played a pivotal role in shaping the UK government and sector sustainability agendas. She has also worked in the energy, transport and FMCG sectors.

Diana chairs the Heritage Lab Ramsgate board and previously chaired the board of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment. With degrees in Chemistry and Environmental Management from Oxford and London, Diana combines technical expertise with strategic leadership to champion improving standards and innovation across the built environment.

Graham has been a key figure at the Construction Industry Council since 1989, holding roles including Director, Chief Executive and Secretary. He oversees CIC’s policy direction and maintains strong engagement with government and external stakeholders. In 2010, Graham became Secretary of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Excellence in the Built Environment.

His deep industry knowledge has shaped the Code of Considerate Practice and earned him numerous accolades, including an OBE in 2008 for services to construction, the CIOB President’s Medal in 2000 and the Peter Stone Award in 1996.

Peter is Chief Executive of the Construction Products Association (CPA), following five years as Deputy Chief Executive and Policy Director. He works closely with policymakers and industry leaders to raise the profile of the construction products sector, support members’ businesses, grow markets and reduce regulatory risk.

A Chartered Architect with over 35 years’ experience, Peter has held key national roles, including representing the CPA on the Industry Response Group established by the UK Government following Grenfell to strengthen building safety. His expertise and influence continue to shape industry standards and reinforce the Scheme’s leadership.

Steve is Chief Executive of the Chemical Industries Association (CIA), a role he has held since 2006, bringing decades of expertise in governance, safety, policy and risk management.

In late 2020 he became chair of Building a Safer Future (BSF), an independent organisation administered by Considerate Constructors Scheme, created after the Grenfell tragedy to drive leadership and culture change in improving building safety.

Steve began his career in trade policy and international development, including roles with the Department of Trade and Industry and Crown Agents, before joining CIA in 1997. He has served on numerous boards and advisory groups, reflecting his commitment to collaboration and skills development.

Simon is a renowned marketing and strategy leader with over 30 years of C-Level experience in media, entertainment, video games and technology communications, strategy and revenue creation. He is Co-Founder and CMO of Reactional Music Group and founded an award-winning marketing agency with clients including Hewlett Packard, Nintendo, Activision and Sony.

He has advised and invested in multiple companies in games, technology and construction and spearheaded the creation of a skills academy for young people delivering traineeships and apprenticeships. He has helped raise over £11m for good causes, including the creation of the Paddington Academy and supported charities such as Childline, The Prince’s Trust and Whizz Kidz. He is also a full BAFTA member.

Caroline is a seasoned strategic communicator with over two decades of experience in the built environment. She has worked at major FTSE organisations, including five years with Kier Group plc and founded her own consultancy. Most recently, she was Corporate Affairs Director for Clarion, the UK’s largest housing provider.

Caroline has contributed to some of the UK’s largest infrastructure projects, including Crossrail, HS2, the Mersey Gateway, Stonehenge and Hinkley Point C. She now advises a wide range of contractors, clients and consultants on new construction and infrastructure projects.

Andy is Executive Managing Director for Property & Buildings at WSP in the UK and Ireland, bringing over 25 years of experience delivering complex, large‑scale projects across the built environment. His career spans healthcare, commercial and residential sectors, including tall and technically challenging buildings, working at the interface of design, delivery and client outcomes.

During more than a decade at WSP, Andy has held a number of senior leadership roles and now oversees a nationwide, multi‑disciplinary team of engineers, architects, and specialists. Known for his pragmatic, people‑centred approach, he brings deep insight into construction delivery and leadership.
