The CCS National Awards are one way in which the Considerate Constructors Scheme supports and drives positive change in the construction industry.
Our Code of Considerate Practice helps drive higher standards across construction activities. Those registered with us are already taking steps every day to make sure their work has a positive impact on the spaces where people live, work and play.Â
Our Nationally Recognised Construction Awards Programme
The Scheme has been rewarding the UK’s most considerate sites since 1998 when we launched the National Site Awards. Today like then, the Awards are one of the most recognised construction industry awards in the sector and represent an exceptional accolade that recognises the sites that have made the greatest contribution towards improving the image of construction.
In 2022 we took a break from the National Site Awards and trialled a new format, the Leading Lights Awards (LLAs), with two successful editions in which over 100 outstanding and innovative initiatives and exceptional individuals were celebrated. Due to great demand, however, we have decided to return to the more inclusive format of the National Site Awards from 2024 onwards.

Winning a National Site Award
The National Site Awards recognise the efforts that constructors have made to be the most considerate neighbours. They recognised those that are creating value in the communities surrounding them, and those that are respectful of the public, the workforce, and the environment.
Each year, the winners are presented with either Bronze, Silver or Gold depending on their performance against the Code of Considerate Practice, within similar project value bandings to ensure fairness.
Out of the very highest performing Gold Award winners, one site per value band is honoured with the prestigious title of Most Considerate Site (Runner-ups are also recognised, if applicable).
These sites represent the pinnacle of considerate construction among their peers, and set the benchmark for others to follow.
Eligibility for the CS National Site Awards
Entry in the National Site Awards is free and automatic bar a few criteria. To be considered, a site must have had:
- An active CCS registration in the previous year
- Had at least one scored monitoring visit in the previous year
The level of the awards are based on a site's average monitoring score, plus innovation and best practice points achieved in the year prior, and take into account complaints data (eg. 2025 for the 2026 Awards).Â
The value bands of the awards are:
- <£5m
- £5m>£50m
- £50m>£100m
- £100m+
What happens if I win an award?

Our Awards are presented each year at several award ceremonies held at different locations across the UK, which always see hundreds of construction industry professionals attending to receive their National Site Award in front of their peers on stage.
Award Winners
Once shortlisted, winners are individually contacted and invited to one of the ceremonies, but as we like to keep a bit of suspense, they will find out the level of their Awards only once they are called up to the stage.

22 April - Manchester

At our ceremonies:
- The dress code is Business Formal.
- Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Digital QR codes will be issued and must be presented upon arrival for check-in.
- Pre-selection of seats is not available.
- A table plan will be provided at the venue.
- Tables for 10 guests are available for booking.
While we would love to have everyone in the room celebrating the top constructors, bookings for the Awards ceremonies are only open to the winners and their guests.
